What it’s like to work at Heywood

Don’t just take our word for it. Listen to what our people have to say about being part of the
Heywood team.

Senior CRM Shenley covers our accommodating approach to career development and how we prioritise learning technical and soft skills.

Ash, our Deputy Head of Product, discusses his enjoyable career growth and how we deliver better outcomes for pension schemes.

Scrum Master Mus originally joined Heywood as a Developer and explains how our values guide us towards achieving successful outcomes.

Our culture

Collaboration and autonomy

At Heywood, you can make a difference from day one. Our culture inspires autonomy and encourages continuous development. We celebrate the growth and success of every individual. In short, we understand what makes people tick.

Cross-team collaboration is a key part of our culture. One team leads to countless possibilities. To support this, we reward ourselves with regular social events to bring people together. We are proud to have a culture that harnesses the importance of open communication, support and care for one another.

We believe in the bigger picture. Our work is about really making a difference in the world and directly improving the lives of people around us. And our people get a great sense of achievement from giving something back through the support of a charity.

We actively encourage our people to engage with and contribute to our wider community. Our partnership with The Christie Charitable Fund and The Turing Trust helps us to do just that. And, since 2020, we have been awarded the annual Payroll Giving Award, celebrating a culture of giving in the workplace.

At Heywood, we don’t just talk about learning and development. We make it happen. In 2016, we established our much-loved Hive Days. These monthly events bring the entire business together to learn, grow and connect.

“I have worked at a number of companies that talk about a day a month for learning and development, Heywood is the first company I have worked for where this is a reality. There are great sessions put on by staff and occasional external speakers, plus time for focused self-learning that the day-to-day work just doesn’t allow for.”
